Through
National and Local offices, we can offer, should you so wish, the following ordering
services: July
1837 onwards, certificate copies ( Birth, Marriage, Death ) for England and Wales;
through Scottish facilities a similar service is in situ. Where
available, we can also order photocopies of Parish Register entries. These do
not, of course, give the full level of information that the above mentioned certificates
do. The
certificates themselves are added to your bill at a general rate of £10 per item,
including costs that we incure for postage.
Certificates can tell interesting stories - to say the least... in researching
one aspect of our own Family Trees, we found an element of wistful romance ( well
we like to see it that way...! ) A relation was shown as 14 in the 1891 Census
and 24 in the one of 1891. She was married in 1893 - with the certificate showing
her to be not 17, but 21. Perhaps she told a white lie in order to get married
to her true love, by whom she later had many children. |
